Gel Nails

If you want your nails to look perfect but your natural ones are brittle or peel, don't worry. There is a variety of fake nail options, such as gel nails, UV gel nails and acrylic nails. Although there is a difference between acrylic and gel nails both in cost and look, artificial gel nails will do the trick if you are looking for something more than the ordinary!

Gel nails are applied in most salons, or you can take a class and learn how to apply them at home. Here is an overview of how to apply them yourself with these simple tips on gel nail products.

  1. Get your gel nail supply and gel nail products ready. You should decide on the shape - flat, curved, almond-shape, etc.
  2. Compare every fake nail with your natural nail, and choose the ones fitting yours. Every gel nail must cover your natural nail completely.
  3. Work with your left hand first if you are right-handed
  4. Your natural nails must be short, not surpassing your fingertips
  5. Clean and disinfect your natural nails
  6. Rub your natural nail with a nail filer to eliminate its shine. This will help the gel nail stick evenly.
  7. Apply a drop of adhesive on the reverse of the artificial gel nail. Stick it from the finger tip, and then apply it down. Press on it slightly.
  8. Cut the gel nail to the size you need
  9. Shape and file the nail with a nail filer.
  10. Drop a little tip blender between the joint of the natural and the artificial gel nail. File until you cannot feel the joint.
  11. Disinfect the nail again. You may then decorate with nail polish or a small tattoo.
  12. Drop a little gel on the nail and stretch it on the nail's surface with the help of a clean brush.
  13. Spray the activator (from a distance of 20-30 cm), and apply a 2nd layer, after which It won't be necessary to apply more activator.

How to Remove Gel Nails

Removing gel nails is not a difficult task. If you don't like the way an artificial gel nail fits, simply apply some acetone with a piece of cotton. Wrap it with aluminium foil for 10 minutes and it will then quite be easy to remove.

Remember that there is a big difference between acrylic and gel nails in terms of adherence. Removing gel nails can be easy if you buy good supplies instead of the cheap stuff.

UV Gel Nails

UV gel nail enhancements have been in fashion world for several years, but have really taken off these days in terms of popularity. This name is used as different from "acrylic nails", although some acrylic is still present in the products used for shaping UV gel nails because they are based on acrylates and methacrylates. Since the application of UV gel nails calls for both some ability and necessary equipment, it is advisable to have them applied at a good beauty or nail salon.
